Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q – How much does it cost?

A – The pricing will be set according to the category in which you are advertising and the type of company that you are – our policy is to set a fair, reasonable and affordable cost that will be a worthwhile investment for your business. Call us now to find out more.

Q - Is this a political site?

A - No. It’s only purpose is to highlight and promote goods and produce that are actually made in England rather than elsewhere in the UK or the world.

Q - What are you trying to achieve?

A - Several things:

- Supporting local industries, particularly those that are family orientated

- Doing our bit to help reduce carbon emissions

- Flying the flag

Q - Who are your target customers?

A – Basically anyone who would prefer to buy things produced in England rather than elsewhere in the world. The reasons that people would choose to buy things made in England could vary from:

- Not wanting to buy from countries, who employ child labour or pay their workers a pittance.

- Because they have green credentials and wish to save on food and product miles.

- Because they would prefer that English companies (potentially their neighbours) receive their hard - earned pounds and thereby help these companies thrive and prosper.

Q - What is your definition of English goods and produce?

A - Those products that are produced or manufactured in England and not outsourced to other countries in the world that have cheaper labour rates. This would not preclude products made by foreign companies in England or those that import a proportion of the parts that make up the product. Food and drink that is produced in England, but could contain ingredients imported from abroad.

Q - Why can’t we buy directly from you?

A - Good question – but the main reason is one of logistics and costs as we would need to stock all the vast range of products that we advertise ourselves, which would mean vast warehouses and extra cost to the consumer.

Q - How does buying English impact carbon footprint?

A - The maximum distance from any two places in England is just over 400 miles, and goods if bought locally, would in most cases, involve a distance less than 100 miles. Yet currently a lot of our goods come from thousands of miles away in Asia, involving many different forms of transport. The more miles goods travel, the more carbon emitted into the atmosphere.

Q - What’s wrong with buying goods made elsewhere?

A - Nothing, if you are not worried about exploitation of the local population, child labour, supporting other countries businesses and people rather than your own and the impact of food and air miles!

Q - Why use this site?

A - Because it is the only site on the web that specifically supports English made goods and produce.
